This page has got some ideas for
things you could make for your circuit More pictures and text to be added soon Buildings Refreshments Trailer
This refreshment trailer is made out of a piece of scrap cardboard. Pit wall and lane
the pit wall is made out of a scrap bit of wood cut to the correct size. the pit lane is made of a few sections of old classic scalextric track cut down to size. Plastic refreshments trailer
Made out of plastic sheet 1mm thick and some square plastic tubing to hold it together. Plastic marshal posts
This marshal post was made out of some plastic I had left from the refreshments trailer. I made a 3 panel structure then added a base and then added a roof then I put a platform for the marshal to stand on and some steps, I have made 4 of these now and think they are great.
Toilet block
This toilet block was made of scrap cardboard that didn't paint very well and the roof kept having white lines in it so I did it with a permanent pen but I have decided that I would use this kind of cardboard any more. In the future I will be making a toilet block from plastic Ticket kiosk/Entrance building
Made out of same cardboard as above but turned out a bit better i have now put a figure in it Pit Garages
These pit garages are made of plastic I bought from the model shop. Since the first picture was taken I added some steps. I then put a SRA TV crew figure set and a carrera podium on the balcony and put the commentators in the control tower. TV towers made of plastic rods and sheets bought from my local model shop, then painted. I am very pleased with these, I think its mainly the paint that really makes them look great. Other Armco barriers Made of wooden mouldings painted then glued to baseboard Runoff area Made of cork tiles that are glued to the baseboard Spectator bank Made of Paper Mache Catch fencing
This fence is made out of a piece of mesh and an aluminium rod i bought from B&Q. it is fixed to the boards by holes drilled in it that the posts fit into. Spectator information signs
1st I found a bit of scrap plastic and drew the two sections on it. 2nd I cut them out. 3rd I glued them together. 4th I printed a picture off the computer and glued it on. |
